May 3 Fishing Report Uclluelet BC

Fishing has been very good for Chinook salmon close to shore. Depending on the length of the trip you can also fish for lingcod and halibut. The past few days we have mostly been targeting Chinook salmon. The bite has been turning on mid morning which is great since you don't have to get up too early!

During April the weather is often the biggest factor that limits our spots but as May rolls on we get less wind  and amore consistent ocean. This is a special place. In most places in BC and Alaska it isn't normal to just roll out of the harbour and start getting good Chinook fishing. Chinook are the MOST desirable salmon for size, fight and this time of year is when they are the best eating.
