Fishing Reports

This is our last report of the season. Fishing is still very good offshore at Big Bank and you many still be able to get some Chinook salmon. Coho are there in abundance and there are also lots of halibut.

Fishing for Chinook salmon has been good in the afternoon close to shore and offshore for the morning bites. Halibut fishing and Coho fishing as been good offshore.

Chinook salmon, Coho salmon and Halibut fishing have all been good. Chinook have been steady in a few different spots. Halibut has been very good for the 2nd year in a row in close to shore.

Fishing has been good for Chinook, Coho and Halibut in a few spots fairly consistenly. We have been getting a good average size halibut and often catching them not too far away from where we are salmon fishing.

Chinook fishing continues to produce well at Long Beach and there are other spots also producing salmon We haven't been making the trip to Big Bank but there are lots of halibut and salmon there too.

Fishing has gotten better for Chinook by a bit though we are now running about 10 miles to get into the best fishing. Halibut is being taken in the same area.

There have been some larger than average Chinook salmon getting caught the past couple of weeks. Coho fishing has been very good and Halibut is also doing well.

Fishing has been very good the past couple of weeks We are getting most Chinook in the 12-20lb range. The Halibut fishing has been pretty quick once on anchor. Coho fishing has also been decent.

Fishing has been very good for Chinook salmon, lingcod and halibut. Its early but fishing has been hot and there are lots of happy faces, bent rods, smiles and fun.

Fishing is great for lingcod and Chinook salmon. Some mid teens are around and this week looks like great weather so get out on the water!

Some Vancouver Island rivers had record returns we haven't seen in a long time. We work through some data and a positive outlook for 2024.

Fishing recap for Uculelet BC on the west coast of Vancouver island. We had another good season for Chinook, Halibut and Lingcod and much of the fishing for salmon was 15 mins or less from the harbour.

Salmon fishing was very hot at the end of August and then gradually started slowing down. Halibut fishing stayed hot during the first half of September and the lingcod fishing was very good most days.

Fishing for the large Chinook salmon has been as good as it gets the past 10 days with most Chinook in the 15-25lb range and a few larger being taken.

Chinook salmon fishing is on fire right now and you NEED to get out there. If you enjoy spending more time reeling in fish than waiting for the rods to go this may be the time for you to go fishing in Ucluelet!

Chinook, Coho, Lingcod, Halibut fishing have all been very good and close by. There have been some strong NW winds which forced us into Barclay Sound for a couple days but there are lots of fish there too!

Fishing is good in many different spots using many different types of gear. Chinook, Coho, Halibut, and Lingcod. There have been large schools of bait in many different spots as well.

Fishing Report for Ucluelet BC. Fishing has picked up and now is the time to get your lines wet, rods bent and reels screaming! Chinook, Halibut, Coho and Lingcod are all available from Ucluelet.

The best Chinook fishing has been close to the harbour and the best halibut fishing halibut fishing has been 20 miles offshore. Halibut limits increase tomorrow and details within. Time to get your fresh salmon and halibut for the winter!

Fishing has been good. But fishing isn't the only discussion. We have had very good customers over the years and we want to say thanks to all of you who come fishing and read our fishing reports and updates.

Fishing forecast for early season from the West Coast of Vancouver Island in Ucluelet BC. Salmon, Halibut, Coho and Lingcod fishing were great in 2022 and are expected to be good or better again.

Another season is behind us and we consider ourselves fortunate to guide in such a rich fishery that also has incredible scenery. Ucluelet is one of the top places to catch salmon and halibut in the world and 2022 was a very good year to remember.

It is close the the end of season for us but fishing continues to be strong. We have been getting some great catches of halibut and coho at Big Bank and also there are still some Chinook coming through in close to the rocks. Halibut limits have increased to 2 per day which saves us a trip offshore on our multi-day trips- a win for the planet and our pockets with the high fuel costs.

Chinook (King) fishing in close to shore remains hot and the bites are happening all throughout the day. Chinook, Coho, Halibut and Lingcod fishing are all strong.

Fishing has been stellar through the first part of the Stamp River run coming through Ucluelet and this continues to be a hotspot on Vancouver Island. Normally there is a dropoff late July in close to shore and all the fishing happens offshore. This year there was no drop off in fishing close to shore and it just continued into August except with bigger numbers of Chinook.

Fishing report for Ucluelet BC. July 31, 2022. Fishing in close to shore continues to be outstanding for Chinook and Coho. Halibut are offshore like normal. Some of the best days are right outside the harbour.

Fishing has been insane the past 10 days and the weather dreamy. There are periods of time where you look back and realize you just had something really special. We don't take these moments for granted.

The salmon fishing in close to shore has exceeded expectations for June. Normally there is a slow down in June for some areas close to shore and it takes a bit to figure out where the fish are. This year has been much different and coho are starting to show up not very close as well.

Fishing has been good this past week though mostly small Chinook as expected. There are lots of ground fish available as well and halibut if the weather is good enough to make the run.

Fishing has been deadly for the Chinook making their way around the corner to head into Barkley Sound and then up the river. Lots of fish in the 15-25lb range are being caught.

Bites have been hot and heavy for good parts of the morning and sometimes in the afternoon. Lots of good sized Chinook making their way through.

Fishing has been great out at Big Bank for halibut and salmon and the inshore fishery for larger Chinook started sooner than normal with some good sized fish starting to role through August 1.

Fishing Report for last couple weeks of July in Ucluelet, B.C. Canada. Salmon and Halibut Fishing has been hot at Lighthouse Bank and Big Bank.

Fishing report for the last couple weeks in Ucluelet BC. The weather calmed down and we are able to get out to the fast action on the bank for both salmon and halibut. We are catching Chinook, Coho and Halibut.

Fishing has continued to be good over the past few weeks with the exception of a few days around a storm just before the middle of the month.

Fishing has been steady for Chinook salmon, halibut and lingcod for all of April and May. WIth the travel restrictions ending its time to get out on the water!

Salmon fishing this past weekend was great around Great Bear and the Red Can which are just a few minutes from the harbour. Great Bear is mostly protected water which makes it quite calm and scenic fishing. Halibut were also around.

2021 Fishing forecast for Ucluelet BC is good again. We looking for good Chinook and Coho returns and good halibut fishing throughout the summer.

Fishing Report for Ucluelet BC. Chinook salmon fishing has been great in close to shore and the next few weeks should continue this way. Halibut fishing has been mostly good at Big Bank though the black cod interrupted things for a while.

The fishing has relatively good the past couple weeks on Big Bank and a few other areas on and off. Halibut, Chinook and Coho are being caught.

The halibut fishing has been good this past couple weeks and the coho are starting to show up on South Bank. This is your time to go fishing!

Fishing has been picking up as we move into our prime season for Chinook, Coho. and halibut. Its time to get out for some reel screaming action!

The Chinook salmon have been a good average size this past week as we just start out our season. We have also caught some real screamers and of course there are always a few that get away. Time to get on the water!

Fishing the past few weeks has been exceptional. There have not been many boats on the water for obvious reasons and it has been perfect for getting fast action and some nice spring meat.
