Fishing Report: Ucluelet, B.C. August 16, 2017
Not much is new since the last report except that Big Bank has slowed down a bit. The local run of 15-30lb Chinook has been good along close to shore the past week and should keep going strong. Offshore fish are being caught at the Heisen and the inshore fishery has been pretty consistent for larger Chinook. We expect the inshore fishing will be good through early September. As expected, we have had some very good bites here.
Halibut fishing is has been good in a couple areas at Big Bank and also outside the Starfish. Every year it is a waiting game to see how long the halibut will stick around. So far so good!
We are booking packages for next year so make sure you get you spot very soon if coming in the busy season from June - September.
If you are looking to get last minute accommodation for Ucluelet or Tofino check out www.tofino-info.com. Accommodation has been tough to find for July and August so make sure you book right away.
